Abstract

The Tordera basin has some particularities that make it a privileged space to analyze a meteorological episode such as the storm Gloria. The article will analyze its development and its consequences. We are focusing on both the meteorological indicators and the behavior of the river during those days and its repercussions on the vegetation. The affectations are analyzed from a socio-territorial perspective, including a preliminary approach in economic terms. We are also discussing the first response as the result of the emergency and the repair. Despite admitting its absolute necessity, this paper includes a final consideration on the need to implement governance medium-term structural mesures including the management of the territory and its improvement.
