Abstract

This paper analyzes transport infrastructures emphasizing its role in contemporary societies in general and in the Catalan context in particular. It retrieves first the basic infrastructures of the country, its planning and management and then the main and secondary network of roads, railways (conventional and high speed), seaports and airports. At the end of this paper the most controversial projects such as the Quart Cinturó through the Vallès, and the Bracons Tunnel are also anayzed.
