Abstract As its name indicates, flow cytometry (FCM) is a technique that performs measurements (metry) on cells (cyto) in a flow system. A fluidic system facilitates the flow of cells one-by-one for single-cell analysis to be used in several multicolor applications for biology and for functional studies as well as a broad range of research applications. This technology elegantly combines the unique ability to rapidly isolate pure populations of cells or particles with a specific set of biological characteristics.
