Abstract The Animal Nutrition and Welfare Service (SNiBA, from the Catalan) is a research group and knowledge transfer service of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) that promotes and leads research in the livestock sector. The objective of the group is to support and to work with and for the agri-food sector, jointly conducting research, development and innovation projects based on the detection of key opportunities and needs in order to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of the livestock sector. This paper presents the activity carried out by SNiBA over the last ten years and groups its main projects in three categories: a) nutrition and management of monogastric animals; b) nutrition and management of cattle; and c) animal welfare.
