Abstract

Secondary Education, Social Classes and International Relations in the counties of the Third World from 1945. In view of the economic, labour and information dependence Third World countries have on the developed nations, the author affirms that even today there exist conditions which have a negative influence on extended secondary education in the countries of the South (Africa, Latin America, Asia). In spite of the efforts of these countries to conserve their language and culture, a neo-colonialist process is underway which restricts the possibilities of real linguistic pluralism. Furthermore, apart from the language problem, difficulties of integration into the workplace, the exploitation of child labour and unemployment amongst the more highly qualified are just some of the challenges facing secondary education in the Third World which are being debated on the international stage, moreover, in the midst of a conflict of political and social interests.
