Josep Maria Espanya: els camins del federalisme impossible Authors Antonieta Jarne Abstract Born in 1878 in Vielha, Josep Maria Espanyas career was extraordinarily multifaceted. A constant search for the best way to achieve federalism formed the core of his political life. President of the government of Lleida province (Diputació) from 1913 to 1917 and one of the greatest promoters of the Catalan Mancomunitat (Commonwealth), he entered Catalan politics via the Liberal Party then joined the Regionalist League. During the period of the Republican government of Catalonia (Generalitat) he was a member of parliament for the ERC party and took over the Ministry of Government during the summer of 1936, from which he carried out the very important work of helping those encountering difficulties due to the revolutionary context to escape. He died in Colombia in 1953. Downloads Download data is not yet available. Downloads Text complet (Català) Published 2016-07-18 How to Cite Jarne, A. (2016).
