Abstract

Fernando Tarrida del Mármol was a prominent anarchist who lived in the exciting Barcelona of the late 19th century and is one of the most interesting representatives of Spanish anarchist intellectuals of that period. There were two key aspects to his life: his achievements as a militant activist and his role as a writer, thinker and communicator, always related to the anarchist movement. This text provides an overview of the life of Tarrida del Mármol, emphasising his cosmopolitanism and his role in relations between the Spanish anarchist groups and their European counterparts.
