Josep de C. Serra i Ràfols: una vida de fidelitat i dedicació al patrimoni arqueològic de Catalunya. L'exemple de la Baetulo romana Authors Josep Guitart i Duran Abstract The involvement of Josep de C. Serra Ràfols in Badalonas archaeology over almost half a century is highly paradigmatic of his valuable and extensive contribution to Catalan archaeology. His dedication to Roman Baetulo started in the 1920s with the first issue of the Forma Conventus Tarraconensis, the Baetulo-Blanda, and with the archaeological study of the Roman house on Lladó street, continuing in the years of the Republic with important excavations at Clos de la Torre, the focal point for that site, and culminating in the difficult post-war years with his decisive support to afeguard and scientifically explore the archaeological heritage of that Roman city. The important work achieved and future potential of todays Badalona in archaeological and museum terms would not be possible without the tenacity and dedication of the valuable archaeologist we are paying homage to.
