Abstract

Between 1916 and 1932, Ferran de Sagarra i de Siscar (1853-1939), member of the Institut d’Estudis Catalans, published the five volumes of a fundamental work of the Catalan historiography of the first third of the xxth Century: Sigil·lografia catalana. Inventari, descripció estudi dels segells de Catalunya. The Archives of the Institut d’Estudis Catalans preserves an unpublished text by the famous historian Ferran Soldevila about Ferran de Sagarra that helps us to contextualize the monumental work of Ferran de Sagarra in his time. The text is here published in an integral version.
