Abstract

The role of historian of Ramon d’Abadal i de Vinyals, which begins in the second decade of the 20th century and extends for close to sixty years, is greatly conditioned by his political-ideological position, a great technical, erudite and intellectual capacity, and a very marked sense of national and social belonging. This text retraces his personal and intellectual biography to explain the main traits of how he interpreted and posed the history of the country from a very singular personal position: the value of social minorities as a leading element of the collective history.
