Abstract

Reflections on the book Els precedents antics a la història de Catalunya published by Ramon d’Abadal in 1967, assessing its lucidity and to what extent the author was up-to-date, focusing on certain key issues such as the origin of prehistoric and ancient peoples that populated the area of Catalonia. The knowledge of that time is compared with our knowledge today and the author’s reflections on the late Roman period are particularly valued.
