Abstract

Currently, in Andorra the issue of identity is intensely debated. This article aims at raising a philosophical reflection on this problem through (1) Simone’s Weil theory of the notion of rootedness: L’enracinement ou Prélude à une déclaration des devoirs envers l’être humain (1943); and (2) the artistic expression of rootedness in Jaume Plensa’s sculptures 7 poetes and Manuel Montobbio’s collection of poems Estilites d’Andorra.
