Abstract

Following Ramon Turró Darder’s (1854-1926) and August Pi i Sunyer’s (1879-1965) works, in Catalonia was born and developed an interesting and fruitful school of doctors-philosopher. A generation of authors who after 1939 had to work from the exile all around the world. These authors had a wide scientific and humanist formation and because of this, they took into account contemporary artist such as Picasso and Dalí. It is this humanist and artistic aspect that we are going to talk about; we are going to do it from three specific authors point of view: Diego Ruiz Rodríguez (1881-1959) Antoni Oriol Anguera (1906-1996) and Víctor Viladrich Vila (1897-1950). Our work is an approach to their biographies and most important pieces of works focussed in Art issues and Picasso’s figure (of whom both Ruiz and Oriol made essential and forgotten contributions).

Keywords: Picasso, Oriol Anguera, Diego Ruiz, Víctor Viladrich, Freud, Goya.
