The epistemology of modality: current tendencies

Abstract

The topic of this lecture is the epistemology of the modality. That is, the theory of knowledge of modal facts; namely, facts about possibilities, necessities, and essences. The focus of the talk is to identify those aspects in the epistemology of modality that have been dominant until recently, and to contrast them with the new directions as manifested in recent years.
