Abstract

In recent decades, mathematics education has emphasizedmathematical problem solving (NCTM, 2000), and with the introduction of skill-based learning for mathematics (Serramona, Burgués, 2013) this type of activity has gained evenmore importance. On the other hand, from a socio-cognitive approach,we know that knowledge in the classroom comes from the interaction with other pupils. In our study we investigate how secondary students with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) solve complex problems. The results show that students with ADHD improve their mathematical competence in problem solving when working in pairs.
