Aportacions matemàtiques alt-empordaneses del segle XX Authors Lluís Sabater Anticó Abstract Throughout history, until the 20th century, it is difficult to find names of prominent Catalan mathematicians and their work. However, in the 20th century, with the development of the media, new technologies and social changes, there has been much more mathematical activity in Catalonia, and specifically in the Alt Empordà. Thus, Ferran Sunyer i Balaguer and Eduardo Casas Alvero are internationally recognized in the world of mathematics, and Simó Bosch Estany is also recognized in the world of education in Catalonia, and in the Alt Empordà is recognized FredericMacau i Vilar. This article talks about these four Alt Empordà people and their contributions, and others that have also been important in the Alt Empordà society of the 20th century.
