Abstract

This article presents the comprehensive approach taken at the secondary school Institut Serra de Noet in Berga, to highlight the teaching of statistics in grades 7-10. The subject of statistics is often neglected at this educational level, because it does not occupy a central position in themathematics curriculum. Different examples of projects carried out by the students are used, whose common denominator is to allow themto see statistics as «the science that deals with the collection, organisation and processing of data to draw conclusions and generalisations withmathematical criteria».
