Abstract

This work is based on the problem of how to teach randomness and statistics in primary school, and considers an educational paradigm that integrates experimentation and inquiry and in which statistics tools and knowledge are introduced as required to answer specific questions appropriate to the corresponding school level. The paper presents a proposal for a systematic review on random and statistical inference in primary education. The origins of this activity are shown within the frameworks of research on didactic theory (Brousseau, 1997), later adapted by the anthropological theory of didactics in other systematic review proposals (Chevallard, 2006 and 2015). Here, firstly, is a presentation of the design developed by the teacher responsible for the experiment in conjunctionwith the research team, and then a description of the experience as it played out with fourth-year primary students of the Sant Lluís School, Nou Barris (Barcelona).
