Abstract

This paper describes the organization of a GeoGebra-based graphical problem-solving competition as a classroom experience for secondary school mathematics students, specifically comprising the resolution of geometric problems presented in the form of classic Japanese Sangaku. Prior to the competition students would have carried out different activities using GeoGebra on a regular basis, both in a supervised classroom context as a support to lessons and independently while working on short discovery assignments. The educational objectives of this experience are set on inspiring students curiosity for the beauty of geometric properties and expanding their trust and skill in using GeoGebra.
