Abstract

Asymmetric catalysis has become a key tool for the synthesis of chiral organic compounds, due to its economic and environmental advantages. P-stereogenic ligands – those with chirality at the phosphorous atom – are one of the types of chiral ligands with a greater potential for catalysis. In our group, we have developed a method for the preparation of P-stereogenic synthons with tert-butyl and methyl substituents. However, there is still a need for methods to synthesize other P-stereogenic intermediates of this type. In this paper, we propose a new methodology for the preparation of chiral tertiary phosphines with tert-butyl and methyl substituents.
