The Bible has chemistry: on the 150th year of Mendeleev’s periodic table Authors Joaquim Malé Institut Superior de Ciències Religioses de Girona. La Salle Girona Pep Anton Vieta Saint George’s School Girona Keywords: Periodic table, Bible, chemical elements, metals, Mendeleev. Abstract Chemistry is in everything. Moreover, it may be added to this truism that it has always been this way and always will be. On the occasion of the celebration of the International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements, we are publishing the results of a multidisciplinary research aimed to locate chemical elements in the pages of the Bible. Taking metals as the object of our study in this paper, it may be seen that, despite the spatial and temporal distance that separates us from the men and women of biblical times, they used and valued these materials as much as we do today. Keywords: Periodic table, Bible, chemical elements, metals, Mendeleev.
