Abstract

Ageing Social Perception is different, depending on gender the aim of this article is to establish beyond usual social stereotypes what the individual womans experience is across ageing. This study forms part of another coordinated by Old Women Network, and our object is to share our analyse of femenin ageing social images and describe the real situation of the elderly women in a different European countries. The authentic testimony has been obtained from in-depth interviews of eight elderly and widowed women. The reconstructed biographies allow us to recognise nd evaluate changes which are affecting our society and especially his collective which we know will be more and more in the future. Located between two worlds and ubordinated as housewives, their way of onfronting their day to day shows us how they have dealt with the rupture of the traditional role of elderly women, at the same time, they have produced their own roles that have permitted then to adapt to new enviromental circumstances.
