Abstract

Fragmentation or segmentation and insecurity are two prominent characteristics in employment in recent times. Fragmentation and insecurity influence work, but also community and domestic life; so is, social attitudes, experiences, expectations and aspirations, symbolic representations and social imaginaries. But fragmentation and insecurity must be understood in a dynamic perspective, considering a construction of a plurality of labour and social itineraries. In that sense, Sociology of work has to resort to methodologies more suitable to this social reality.
