Abstract

In V century before Christ Old Greece, concepts like «individual» and «comunity» were considered inseparables. However after Classic period the individualistic mind will gain ground to the comunitary idea. All these changes can be observed across social and cultural manifestations and specially in tragedy. Last one was, at the same time, a social mirror and its sharpest transformer. Thus, tragedy was largely a social art and an art for individual liberation. Tragedy found a human measure and demostrated that mens place in an ordered cosmos was not as perfect as Geometry insinuated.
