Abstract

The archaeological site of the Todonya domus was excavated during the months of August from the years 2001 to 2003. It is included as part of the project that analyses the landscape, economy, and thus the populations appropriation of these environments in central Catalonia during the middle ages. As a domus, it is an example a wealthy farming familys home. Until the 13th century, such dwellings comprised a square floor plan and included several defence mechanisms such as a tower and loopholes. In the 13th century, an upper floor was built and the inner space was reorganised by blocking one of the loopholes and building a pillar .The excavation has not yet finished.
