LANDSCAPE DYNAMICS OF FARMING TERRACES: SOME IDEAS TO BE STUDIED IN THE AITANA MOUNTAIN RANGE (VALENCIAN COMMUNITY) Authors Pablo Giménez Font MedSPai - Departament d’Anàlisi Geogràfica Regional i Geografia Física de la Universitat d’Alacant Keywords: farming terraces, mid-Mediterranean mountains, Valencian Community (Spain), Aitana mountain range. Abstract This article raises some territorial and landscape-related questions on farming terraces on mid-Mediterranean mountain sides. Special attention is paid to the mountains in the south of the Valencian Community (Spain), and particularly to the case of the Aitana mountain range (Province of Alicante), addressing the possibility of dating and analysing the evolution of terrace systems with specific examples. The work therefore aims to constitute a methodological contribution to the international debate on the dating of these agricultural structures. Keywords: farming terraces, mid-Mediterranean mountains, Valencian Community (Spain), Aitana mountain range.
