Abstract

In the present study, chemical composition and sheep and goat diets contribution of Cytisus scoparius grazed in Mediterranean mountain were determined. Cytisus scoparius is a fodder shrub which is in winter a complementary food resource for livestocks. The rest of the year it was consumed lightly, with the exception in late spring, when the forage quality is better. This annual pattern was more clear in the range with a major stocking rate.
