Abstract

Toxicology of pirethroid insecticides on predators Macrolophus caliginosus Wagner and Dicyphus tamaninii Wagner (Heteroptera: Miridae) in laboratory. Sensitivity of predator mirids M. caliginosus and D. tamaninii against several pirethroid insecticides was evaluated in laboratory tests. Insects were exposed to pesticide dry residues on inert surface and tomato leaf, and topical applications were performed. Results show significative differences in sensitivity according to the used active ingredient and mirid species. Lowest topical LD50 was obtained for Deltamethrin, followed by Lambda- cyhalothrin, Alpha-cypermethrin and Fenvalerate.
