Production has undergone since Spain joined the EC. Taken in historical context, the last few years represent a critical phase in the evolution of the Catalan Agricultural System. The paper deals with the structural factors explaining this evolution in relation with the integration process. The research approach centres on the need to define the alternatives at the theoretical level and more pragmatic proposals to be moved and discussed from the academic viewpoint wich may serve as a basis for a ewording of the Catalan Agricultura!
