El Valor fertilitzant nitrogenat en la reutilització agrícola de fangs residuals Authors Maria Teresa Felipó i Oriol Maria Antònia Garau Gras Abstract One of the best alternatives to sewage sludges disposal is to use them as fertilizers in order to recycle nutrients and minimize environmental and food chain pollution. The crop N uptake depends on the available N in sludges, so the N efficiency of sludge is function of the mineralized nitrogen in soil through a crop season because organic-N is the prevailing N form in sludges. The different N-forms in several sewage sludges has been studied. Also the N efficiency of an aerobically digested sewage sludge has been tested. The higher N efficiency of the aerobic sludge compared with an inorganic fertilizer is shown. The experiment has been done using two different soils and the same crop.
