Abstract This article focuses on analysing the short supply chains (SSC) used by ecological farm producers in the Baix Llobregat Agricultural Park in 2017. Firstly, the literature review shows the transition of the concept from farm diversification and increased income for small and medium-sized operations towards commercialisation under the umbrella of alternative food networks and agroecology. The analysis of the results of the field work carried out on ecological farm producers shows the potentials and pitfalls of SSC for such operators, providing information that will help to adopt appropriate policy actions in this area. Keywords: short supply chains, alternative food networks, ecological agriculture, Baix Llobregat Agricultural Park, agroecology.
