Abstract Since its foundation in 1996, Qualimac, a pioneering organization in Spain, has promoted a series of benchmarks on issues of quality and food safety of raw materials for animal feed reaching Catalonia based on periodic inspections carried out at different points of supply, mainly the ports of Tarragona and Barcelona. In 2015, Qualimac took representative samples from 266 trucks, on which more than 4,300 analytical controls were carried out. As a result of these controls, Qualimac detected and reported a total of 20 non-conformities that generated incidents.Keywords: control; quality; food safety; raw materials; feed; sector service.
