Educational ideas of Taoism: elements for a liquid pedagogy between nature and rules Authors Xavier Laudo Castillo Universitat de Barcelona Albert Esteruelas Teixidó Universitat de Barcelona Jordi Garcia i Farrero Universitat de Barcelona Keywords: History of education, taoism, eastern pedagogy, liquid pedagogy, alternative education. Abstract The present study pretends to elucidate the pedagogical ideas that are available in the old tradition of Chinese Taoism, the origin of which is located in China in the early 5th century BC. Our contribution is not intended to explain the appearance of the Taoist teaching within its context, nor how it was received in others. A pedagogical reading of Taoist philosophical doctrine has been carried out through the canonical literature to outline its pedagogical and normative ideal. In addition to the interest in knowledge itself, there is a practical interest in knowing this pedagogical ideal, that is, to improve the comprehension of current theories and practices of liquid pedagogy and alternative education inspired by Eastern philosophies.KEY WORDS: History of education, taoism, eastern pedagogy, liquid pedagogy, alternative education.
