Abstract

The editions of mss C and D of the Llibre dels feits and the Aragonese version of Fernández de Heredia, along with the recent studies of the Latin version of Marsili, and textual criticism of King James chronicle make it necessary to readdress the question of the reconstruction of the archetype. In this second part of the study, we examine the historical formation of the two textual families of the Llibre dels feits, their respective linguistic features and their relationship to the Latin and Aragonese versions. This enables us, with the aid of philology, codicology and documentation, to propose a new stemma codicum for King James text.
