Arabismes del català i altres mots relacionats amb l'Islam en la segona edició del Diccionari de la llengua catalana

Abstract

This article looks at the thirty or so Arabic entries and words related to Islamic culture that have been included in the second edition of the Diccionari de la llengua catalana published by the Institut dEstudis Catalans in 2007. Attention is also given to the modified definitions of the borrowings from Arabic that appear in the first edition. In both cases, the written form adopted and the definition given are analysed. On the whole, the new inclusions and the modifications are correct, but in some cases I have proposed a spelling that I deem to be more accurate, along with a stricter definition.
