Abstract At the end of the 1990s, state and regional laws are passed to allow the languages of Sardinia (Sardinian, Catalan, sassarès, gal·lurès and tabarquí) to be included in the local school curriculum. However, this concession has nearly always been recognized only sporadically, so Sardinia passed a new organic law in 2018 to promote its traditional languages, namely L.R. 22/2018. The aim of the present study is to assess the impact of this law in schools, with special reference to 2020-2023.
