Lexis referring to daily life in 15th-Century inventories of Roda de Isábena (Huesca) Authors Javier Giralt Latorre Universidad de Zaragoza DOI: 10.2436/20.2500.01.381 Keywords: everyday vocabulary, Catalan of Ribagorza, history of language, dialectology, diatopic variation, Roda de Isábena, Ribagorza Abstract The collections of documents from the Franja de Aragón (eastern flank of Aragon) include surviving notarial records comprising various different types of text. Among them, those consisting of lists of tangible assets are of particular interest, as they provide information on the vocabulary of daily life in the area at different periods in the local language, Catalan. In this article we will investigate that everyday lexis of the Catalan of Aragon. In order to do this, we will take as a reference some 15th-century inventories from the archives of the parish of San Vicente de Roda de Isábena (Huesca), the seat of the old cathedral of the Ribagorza region. The purpose of this work is twofold: first, to analyse the everyday lexis in the 15th-century Catalan of the Ribagorza region in these manuscripts and, second, to determine the degree of diatopic variation in them in the light of the data provided by the bibliography.
