Abstract

Josep M. Benet i Jornet’s work for children and teenagers is probably the most neglected aspect of his theatrical production. It consists of seven pieces written between 1970 and 1974, along with the ones intended for adults, to which they are similar, both thematically and formally. This article has the twofold purpose of (1) analysing each of these seven pieces (content, sources, critical reception, etc.) and (2) establishing what they have in common (criticism of injustice, contempt of others, the loss of innocence, etc.) that provides evidence of the coherence of the author’s aims.
