Abstract

The concepts of seny and rauxa and their dichotomous relationship is a very important subject in the history of Catalan philosophy. Ferrater Mora deals with the subject taking into account the origin and nature of dichotomies, and his own idea of «integration». He finds in his integrationist analysis that there is no clash or split between the two of them, but that they overlap, because they are part of reason and virtue at different levels of reality that are interwoven in the human being. It can be affirmed that Eugeni d’Ors influenced his concept of seny, and he ultimately headed towards the idea that virtue, which links theory to practice, is a fundamental part of reason.
