The Institut d'Estadística de Catalunya (Idescat) is officially charged with this role. Constantly updated information is provided on the economy, commercial activity,foreign trade, employment, and industry. The territorial breakdown goes down to county, municipal and precinct level. Population mobility for work and study is also provided.
