Resumen

The 1996 Nobel Prize was awarded to professors William Vickrey and James Mirrlees for their fundamental contribution to the economic theory of incentives in a contest of assymmetric information. The award is a recognition of the work of the two winners and their influence in the analysis of problems involving assymmetric information these last twenty Years. Today the study of market imperfections which arise in the abscence of information symmetry available to economic agents in a market transaction or within an organisation or a contractual relation has developed to a great degree.
