La Situació de la innovació a Catalunya Authors Isabel Busom Lionel Artige Walter García-Fontes Inés Macho Stadler Xavier Martínez Giralt Rosella Nicolini Abstract The authors examine the current state of and trends in the capacity to innovate of Catalonia and its economic and social agents, as well as the state of the institutions influencing this innovative capacity. They also identify the potential obstacles to propose those policies that may be necessary and effective to improve its innovative capacity. The authors also determine what influences the development of the productivity of Catalonia and its companies. This quantitative analysis studies R&D expenditure, expenditure on innovation, the human resources dedicated to innovation, trends in patent applications and Catalan exports according to technological intensity.
