Mètodes de preferències declarades en la valoració d'atributs ambientals : una aplicació de l'experiment d'elecció i del mètode d'ordenació contingent als boscos de Catalunya Authors Joan Mogas i Amorós Abstract This thesis presents a comparison of two stated preference techniques to estimate environmental values: The choice experiment and contingent ranking. These techniques are compared in terms of their methodologies and the validity and reliability of the results they produce. The empirical application involves the valuation of some externalities produced by forests: Picnics, picking mushrooms, recreational walks through the forest, captured CO2 and reduction of erosion. The hypothetical market is based on the extension of the forest area of Catalonia by a reforestation programme.
