Estudi de la productivitat i de les aliances de treball dels clústers de Catalunya i de la Comunitat de Madrid a partir de la seva producció en les principals revistes científiques espanyoles de comunicació Authors Eudald Escribà-Sales Abstract This paper presents a study of the academic articles published in the seven most highly acknowledged Spanish communication journals during the period 2007-2011. The study considers the output and the models of collaboration among authors, providing a precise mapping of the activity of the Catalonia and Madrid university clusters. The results show that even though the two clusters have similar output levels, they follow distinct working methods. While the Catalonia cluster shows a higher level of internal connection, the universities of the Madrid cluster establish more partnerships with those of the rest of Spain. Lastly, the results show that international co-authorship is in a very incipient stage in both clusters and that the joint output of Catalonia and Madrid is virtually nonexistent.
