Abstract

Quality is a fundamental element when analysing trust in the media and the credibility of their information, as different theoretical and empirical approaches have revealed. This article focuses on the close relationship between the two concepts, with the objective of identifying the qualitative aspects that can help to fight rising scepticism. The comparative analysis of different studies and surveys allows us to distinguish four kinds of problems or flaws in the quality of information that undermine credibility and that relate both to competition and to professional deontology.
