Abstract

As a reader of Andersen, Perrault and the Grimm brothers' short stories, Ana Maria Matute's children characters break the traditional and imposed image of the adult world. The protagonists of Los niños tontos, signed by the exclusion of this adjective, are good examples: they are fighting spirits with a dual and constantly extended glance, and because of that, they are able to face an hostile outside and to look for new escaping ways. In her turn, famale writer from Argentina, Silvina Ocampo, explores a kind of children subjectivity which is also able to discover the different fissures through which the denominated reality is rewritten.
