Abstract

In order to find out how accurate our measuring equipment is, we usually look for information in the equipment’s manual, which most often sets out the technical specifications. This search can be complicated in many cases due to the different terminology used, as well as the different ways of expressing the associated numerical quantities with accuracy. In this article the concept of accuracy is reviewed as well as other concepts that are used in its place. We will also consider examples of the best way to express the accuracy of a measuring instrument.
