Tres versions d'un responsori del dia de Corpus, "Qui manducat carnen meam", d'Emmanuel Gònima Authors Reinald Dedies Abstract Three versions of the matins responsory Qui manducat carnem meam by the chapel master of Girona Cathedral Emmanuel Gònima have been preserved. The importance of the office of matins in the liturgical and social practices of the 18th century, however, does not suffice to explain such a redundancy. Indeed, a special influence was exerted by the chapel master?s stylistic development in conjunction with the evolution of musical composition over the course of the 18th century, when there was a progressive disappearance of polychorality as may be observed by studying the three versions.
