Abstract

Within the tower of Verdú Castle twelve sculpted vihuelas have been embedded in the wall since the 16th century. These representations highlight the significance of the instruments to the individuals who crafted them, given their considerable number. An analysis of these glyptic representations, coupled with comparisons with the original vihuelas from the period, underscores the substantial interest these instruments generated during that era.
