Abstract This study presents and comments on the duties of the organist of the Monastery of Sant Pere de les Puelles in 1645. It has been found that his main functions, in addition to playing the organ, were singing and the teaching of singing. Comments are made on this document within the context of the history of the times. Likewise, the duties are compared to a similar document of the Barcelona parish church of Sants Just i Pastor from 1715.
